You encourage and inspire so many.

I read recently that scripture is like a beautiful musical masterpeice, composed long ago with careful precision to make all the notes, harmones, crescendos, and tempo flow together as one coherent movement, drawing the listeners towards the Composer. Our job is to play the music. In the same way as a music student can slowly make their way through a Mozart peice, so we as Christians are to "play" the masterpeice of scripture. We are the performers that bring the ancient words on the page to life. Literally. We bring the words to life by living them. We become the joy, we embody the waiting, we live out the love. We journey with the Israelites through the desert. We suffer with Jesus on the cross. We sing with Paul in prison. Scripture wasn't just meant to be read. It was meant to be lived.

Just as "the word became flesh" through Jesus (John 1), so today the word continues to become flesh through our active role in living it out, in singing its melodies, in playing its music.

May God continue to use you as an instrument of healing for so many.

PhilPhilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923910207333921246.post-44403585836031636332010-09-21T07:30:49.091-05:002010-09-21T07:30:49.091-05:00I love, love, love the idea of Mission 127.
