Update- 6 Weeks Post Surgery and colon infection

I was supposed to go talk at the girls bonfire this weekend, but I was still too sick. I was very disappointed that I couldn't go. I had my talk all ready and then I didn't even get to go.

So on Saturday night we had a fire in our fire pit at our house and made smores! It was very chilly that night so the fire felt great.

On Sunday morning I got to go to worship! It was great! By that night I was exhausted.

Yesterday I had another appointment with the surgeon. It went well! He released me from his care so that was my last appointment with him. I know he said that recovery would be long, but I didn't know it would take 6 weeks. I finally stopped taking pain medicine last week. It's so nice not to feel so out of it. It's crazy how much Lyme can slow down recovery. Most people who have this surgery are back to normal in a week or two. It's hard for people to understand why it's taken me so much longer.

We are waiting for stool sample results to make sure it was a colon infection that I had last week. I'm mostly over it, still a little nauseous at times.

Last night my mom and I went to visit some friends in the hospital who just had a baby! It was so fun to go and hold him!

I'm hoping to start getting out more. I need to remember to take it slow so that I don't overdue it. I still get worn out easily.

Funny story about side effects and twins

A few weeks ago I had a HIDA scan done on my gallbladder. They inject radio active dye into your IV and watch it go through the liver and gallbladder with a machine. It tells them how the gallbladder is functioning. It was that test that told us that my gallbladder wasn't working well so I had to have it taken out. After the test we left the hospital and went to get something to eat because I had to stop eating at midnight the night before. As we were walking out of the hospital my eyes started doing weird things. My vision was blurry and I was seeing spots. We figured it was from the dye. So we go to the restaurant and order and sit by the door to wait for our food. While we were waiting, I saw 2 girls walk in who looked identical. I mean they could be the same person. They were older than me so I thought that it was my eyes playing tricks on me because twins older than me wouldn't dress alike and have their hair the same way right? I still couldn't see really well so I thought that there was only 1 person but I was seeing double vision. I started to freak out a little so I asked my dad if he was seeing twins that are dressed the same with the same hair. He said yes!!!! We both started laughing because on the day that I have weird side effects and my eyes are blurry, in walks identical twins making me think I'm going CRAZY! but they were really there! Hahaha it was pretty funny!

Surgery on Wednesday!!!!

We met with the surgeon today and we love him!! My surgery is scheduled for 11:30 on Wednesday! He said recovery is going to be hard but in the long run it will be so much better to have it out. I can't wait to be gallbladder free!!!!!!

We found the problem!

After spending all week at the hospital for tests we found out that my gallbladder is what is causing all the problems! I'm so glad we found it out. The Hida scan yesterday is what showed the problem. For that test they inject radio active stuff into your IV and then watch it fill your gallbladder on the screen. You lay under a machine. Then they give you another dose that acts like what happens when you eat food. It was very painful and I got so nauseous. Today I went for an upper GI test but when I told them my symptoms they sent me to my regular doctors office to talk about the results of the Hida scan. My gallbladder is not working as well as it should so it needs to be taken out. We meet with the surgeon on Monday! I'm so glad we found out what's wrong and are getting it fixed soon! All I've done this week is lay on the couch and go to the hospital for tests. I've been at the hospital so much. I walk in and we don't even have to do the routine paperwork everyday because they know me so well. They just give me my bracelet and we are good!
I'm having to stay on strong pain medicine because the pain is so intense.
I did get to go to church last night which was very hard but I did it. We did something called cardboard testimonies. About 30 of us went in front of the whole church during worship and share part of our lives. On one side of the cardboard you put a struggle and on the other side you put what God has done through that struggle or sin.
Mine was
"On dark road of stage 3 Lyme Disease"
And on the other side I put
"Jesus lights the way for me!"
It was such a great night and such a blessing! I'm glad I got to go and be a part of it!!
