Rebecca's birthday

This past Monday (May 7th) would have been Rebecca's 21st birthday. Sunday night, her parents took several of us out to dinner for her birthday. We went to one of her favorite restaurants. It was the same restaurant that I went to for my birthday this year when Rebecca got to go with us! I love these people so much. It was such a blessing to be able to celebrate with the people who were the closest to her.

After we ate, her mom gave each of us a little box. We opened them and found the most beautiful bracelets I've ever seen. 

There's an angel to represent Rebecca, one that says "Faith" for Rebecca's faith and ours, a heart with "Rebecca" on one side and our initial on the other (so mine has a V), a bead with purple since that was her favorite color, and a heart that says "Forever Friends" since we will be friends forever in Heaven. 

We decided that each year on Rebecca's birthday, we're going to add a new charm to it. 

On Rebecca's actual birthday (Monday), three of us celebrated together. We took flowers to the cemetery with Rebecca's mom. Then we got the first snow cones of the year because those were Rebecca's favorite. Every Sunday afternoon we would get snow cones together.

Happy 21st birthday in Heaven Becca! I can only imagine how great your birthday was with Jesus. 

New doctor and phone consult with Lyme doctor

Last Wednesday (a week ago) we talked to my Lyme doctor in Nevada on the phone. I'm experiencing more neurological symptoms and still the severe bone pain. His first thought is that the Lyme is active again. The problems I've been having for the past year to two years are left over problems from damage that the Lyme has done. Since I've had so many treatments to kill the Lyme in the past three years, my doctor has said that I haven't had an active infection for a while. I've just been dealing with the damage from the bacteria, but now he thinks that I might have relapsed.  If that is not the case, he thinks there is some autoimmune problem or another infection occurring. There's something systemic going on.

My doctor wants me to do blood tests that would be sent to the University of Nevada. The tests would be able to tell us if the Lyme bacteria is just existing, or if it's active and causing problems again. I think it would also tell us if there are autoimmune problems. I also think that these are new tests that would be very promising in diagnosing Lyme and other immune problems. I've never had these tests done, so that's why I think it's new. We are just trying to figure out to send the blood to Nevada.

On Tuesday I saw a doctor at the clinic I've been going to here in Edmond. He's an anaesthesiologist and pain management doctor. He was unhappy with how the conventional medical world was running, so he started doing more natural treatments which led him to the clinic here. He also agrees that something systemic is going on. He is the one who recommended doing the IV laser therapy, and he actually knows the doctor who created the machine that they use.

I'm also starting on something that my doctor in Nevada sent me called Argentyn 23. It kills viruses and bacteria. The doctor at the clinic here also agreed that it is good for me to take, and he recommended that I take Silver Sol with the Argentyn 23.

So I've already started the Argentyn 23 and then I will start the Silver Sol once we get it. It'll take care of any bacteria or viruses that I have.

We're supposed to talk to my Lyme doctor again in a week or so, and then I'll see the anaesthesiologist/pain management doctor again in about a month.

I had my second laser IV today. It went well! I don't feel any different yet. Hopefully soon!

IV Laser Therapy

Today I started a new treatment called IV Laser Therapy. It was developed in Germany and has been used in Europe for a long time. The clinic here has been using it for about a year now and has seen good progress with it, especially with autoimmune problems. As the blood circulates through the vein, it passes through the laser. What does the laser do exactly and how does it work? Well, I'm not totally sure. All I know is that it is giving pain relief to people with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other painful diseases. It is also giving them their energy back. Once I understand more how this works, I will let you know!

Here is the machine. 

They start a normal IV, then put the catheter in and hook it up to the machine. There are red, blue, and green lasers. Each laser is used for 10 minutes, so the treatment is 30 minutes total. Today it took longer to get the IV started than it did to do the actual treatment. As usual my veins were hard to find. 

This is the blue one. The circle that is on my arm is where the catheter in the vein stops. That laser is shining up through the vein and skin.

The red and green were so bright that they covered my arm up with a blanket! It was crazy how bright they were when you looked at them. 

The doctor recommends that I do this twice a week for five weeks, and then we will re-evaluate. During the treatment I didn't feel anything. I could feel the end of the catheter poking my vein since it was so long, so that was a little painful, but other than that it was fine! I don't really feel any different now either, but it could take several treatments to see a difference. 

It's a very interesting treatment! I'm excited to see what happens with it.

Please pray for Grayson

We met Grayson and his mom at the clinic in Nevada last year. It was funny because the first day I was there, I walked in and his mom recognized me from my blog! She had found my blog while researching Lyme!
Grayson and I always had to stay late at the clinic because of various reasons. Sometimes we would be at the clinic till 10pm with our doctor and nurses. Last year, Grayson and his mom were at the clinic for five or six months, so they were there the whole time we were. We spent 2 months together in Reno.

Grayson is very sick and is not doing well. He has Lyme and several other things. He and his mom are back in Reno at the clinic. Tomorrow, he will be put in a medicine induced coma for 10 days. The hope is to "reset" his brain during this time. Please pray for him and his mom. Pray for healing and strength. Also pray for answers. There is still a lot they need to figure out about his health. This treatment is very experimental and scary, but they are running out of options. Thank you for praying! I'll keep you updated.

Quick update

I'll write more hopefully tomorrow, but here's what's been going on. Last Wednesday night we talked to my Lyme doctor in Nevada. Thursday I went to my primary care doctor to get a steroid shot and a 5 day steroid pack to see if that will give me some pain relief. That is at the recommendation of my Lyme doctor.

Saturday night we had to go to the ER once again because of the pain. I developed a cold on Friday and that made everything worse. The pain Saturday was the worst I've had in a while. I got the usual medicines in the hospital plus IV steroids.

Tomorrow I'm going to see a doctor who is an anesthesiologist, but works at the clinic I go to here that does homeopathic treatments. He does pain management. The kind of treatment I might do is done with lasers. I'll explain more about that after we meet with him.

I've noticed lately that there are so many songs that I just sing without actually listening to the words. Since I've heard the songs for so long, I just "go through the motions" when I hear them. This is one of those songs. It's been on Klove (Christian radio station) as long as I can remember, but up until a few days ago, it didn't really mean much to me. I actually listened to the words of it.

Relay for Life

I've never done Relay for Life before, but this year, we created a team in memory of Rebecca. Our team is the Purple Warriors since purple was her favorite color!
