Birthday Celebrations!

My birthday on Sunday was great!! We went to church Sunday morning and then out to eat with my family. We went to a Brazilian restaurant for lunch! It's a fun little cafe place with traditional Brazilian food and drinks. There's an amazing painting of Rio.

They have the best drink called Guarana. It's a fruity soda and is my favorite!
They also have the best cheese bread.

After lunch I came back home to rest for several hours.

Sunday night I went out to eat with my friends! I also got the best birthday present! Rebecca got to go with us!!!

We went to Olive Garden and had a great time.

Alex, Katherine, me, Kailey, Rebecca, Hannah
After we ate, everyone came back to my house to hang out. We hung out until 10:30! It was a perfect day!!

19th Birthday!

Today is my 19th birthday! I am so blessed. I get to spend today with my family and friends.

When people ask what I want for my birthday, I don't know what to say. You want to know what I really want right now?

I want something that no one here on earth can give. Only God can. I want people to be healed from diseases here, on earth. I want for Rebecca to be healed here and now. I want there to be no more cancer or Lyme Disease. Or any other disease.

But guess what? Everything that I want is promised in Heaven. I know that Rebecca and I will be healed, even if it isn't on this earth. I know that there will be no more cancer or Lyme Disease. There will be no more IVs, needles, medicines, ports, PICC lines, surgeries, pain, weakness, needs for wheelchairs, or hospitalizations. There will not be the need for anything. There will not be sickness.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT)

We are also promised that through this life, no matter what, God carries us.

"I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you." Isaiah 46:4b

So as I'm learning more and more each day,
"When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
What ever my lot you have taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul"

Even though I wish things were different on my 19th birthday, I will rejoice because we are promised that all this pain will be gone forever. Today I will rejoice because I get to spend today with family and friends. Today I will rejoice because through this all, we are not alone. Today I will rejoice because God has given me another day. Today I will rejoice because:

"You say I am blessed because of this
So, I choose to believe
As I carry this cross, You'll carry me"

Oh how I can't wait for that day when everything is made right. The day when there is no more sickness and pain.

But today, "Even so, it is well with my soul".

A few of my favorite things...

There are several Iphone apps that are very useful when you are sick! And no, I'm not getting paid to post these apps. That would be nice though!

  • Pill Reminder
This app will send me reminders about when to take certain medicines! You just tell it what you take and when, and it will remind you.

  • Walgreens
We get our medicines from Walgreens, and using this app, I can just scan the barcode on the pill bottle to refill it! You can also check the status of prescriptions.

  • WebMD
With this app, you can look up every medicine and disease, and first aid things.

What are some of your favorite apps??

2 Chronicles 20:12

The reason that I haven't been posting much is because I really don't know what to say. There are so many people hurting right now. One of my friend's younger brother died unexpectedly 2 weeks ago. Several of my friends with Lyme are not doing well at all. And as you know, my friend Rebecca is suffering a lot. Those are just a few people that I know that are hurting right now. It seems like every day someone else that we know is hit with tragedy. None of us really know what to do. But we are looking to God just like this verse says. I know I posted this verse last week, but it is perfect for this time.

"For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon YOU." 2 Chronicles 20:12

We talked to my Lyme doctor last week. He's very happy with the progress as far as detoxing is going. At the clinic here I had a zyto scan done. It tells you a lot about your body. I'm not completely sure how it works. We learned that 9 of my vertebrae in my neck and back are out of place. Because of that, my brain can't send signals to the rest of my body through my spinal cord. There are toxins in between the vertebrae, so that also messes up the signals. You can actually feel the clumps of toxins. Once we start to fix the vertebrae, we're hoping that my body can begin to heal once it gets signals again. I'll start going to a chiropractor. The zyto scan also told us my most stressed organs. Usually my liver is one of the most stressed organs. It wasn't this time! This time it is my kidneys, colon, and bladder. I'm starting a lot of liquid drops. They are homeopathic medicines that you put under your tongue for 60 seconds then swallow. They are for various things. Kidney and bladder drainage, brain fog and memory, vitamin D3, and other ones that are for detoxing. I'm still doing the lymphatic "massage" and foot baths twice a week. I'm getting a lot of nasty things out during the foot baths! A lot of the toxins are from where my gallbladder was. Apparently toxins like to collect in scar tissue.

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of right now. Please continue to pray for Rebecca. I'm thankful that I've been able to hang out and watch tv and movies with her.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. It helps so much.

Prayer Request

Thank you all for your patience and support. Every one of you has been so encouraging to me. Your prayers and comments mean so much to me. Today I have a prayer request for someone else.

One of my best friends has had cancer for 3 years. I asked her if it was okay to share what's going on and ask for prayers and she said yes. She was diagnosed with cancer right after I was diagnosed with Lyme. We didn't really know each other before we both got sick, but since then have been best friends. The cancer came back a year and a half ago so they've been dealing with that. A couple weeks ago she started having back and neck pain so they scheduled a pet scan. She was admitted to the hospital on Sunday to get the pain under control. On Tuesday they got the results. The tumors have spread. She got to come home on Tuesday after her appointment with the doctor. She is doing radiation for two weeks with the hope that it will help the pain. They are doing everything they can to make sure she is not in pain. I ask that you please pray for her and her family. Please pray that she doesn't hurt. Please pray for peace and comfort. Please pray for God's healing hand.

She is such a blessing to me. Even though we don't have the same disease, we understand what each other is going through. I love that we don't have to entertain each other. For example, last night I went over to hang out with her. We were watching a movie and both of us fell asleep on and off. I'm pretty sure we didn't talk for at least an hour. That's the best kind of friendship you can have. We can talk about anything, but can also just be.

I love how verses in the Bible still apply to us today. Most books written are outdated not too long after they are written. "but the word of the Lord stands forever." 1 Peter 1:25

This verse describes perfectly what is going on right now.

"For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

Then a few verses down it says,

"Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s." 2 Chronicles 20:15

On my birthday last year. Rebecca is on the top right.
If you would like to send her an encouraging note, just comment on here and I'll get them to her!

Thank you so much.
