Notebook and Ideas

Some people collect baseball cards, I collect hospital bracelets...that's the cool thing to do now, in case you didn't know! Just kidding, that's just what you do if you're sick.

I've been trying to figure out what to do with all my hospital bracelets since I've kept most of them. I have kept over 30 of them. I finally decided to put them in a notebook! There's one bracelet per page, unless I had more than one kind of bracelet for that stay. They are in chronological order too!

Here is the notebook. Isn't it cute?

I have all the bracelets glued in, and now I'm going to put a verse, quote, or lyrics on each page. Here is an example of one of the pages.

This next page is from my latest surgery. I had 3 bracelets (identification, allergy, and what procedure I was having) from it. I decided to put pictures on there too.

This is where you come in. I would love for you to suggest your favorite verses, quotes, or lyrics for me to put in the book. I have a lot of room, so suggest as many as you would like!! Thank you!

  1. Cast all your anxiety onto him, because he cares for you - 1 Peter 5:7

Pretty much anything from Psalm 18.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest - Matthew 11:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him - Romans 8:28.

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12

I can do everything through him who gives me strength - Philippians 4:13

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze - Isaiah 43:2

These are my top encouraging ones at the moment! Love this idea! :) xx

  2. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Love the book idea by the way! Bery creative and I know someday you will look back and say, "Wow - I went through a lot, but look at where I am now." Blessings!

  3. Great idea! (Love having your dad as a teacher in Bible class, by the way!) Anywho... I'd add to Alyssa's idea that since you'll probably have the space, I vote to add verses 12 and 13, and the first part of 14: "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and will bring you back from captivity...' " (I dunno, maybe not the bit about captivity... but you are a captive of sorts.) What I like about adding those verses is that sometimes I worry that people just learn verse 11 and at least SORT OF act like, "So all I need to know is that God wants me to be happy." But they run the risk of forgetting what vss.12-14 remind us: We have a part to play in this too. God's reminding the Israelites that they need to seek Him. I know they had been very naughty and thus were in captivity, but it's still good for us to remember: seek God, and you will find Him... and He DOES have plans for us all! Sorry for the sermonette! And by the way, I also suggested adding those verses because I do believe that YOU have NOT forgotten how important it is to seek Him. :-) -- Catherine Pigg
